Description
The stainless steel plate and frame diatomite syrup filter press is designed for fine clarification and polishing filtration of sugar syrups and other food-grade liquids. It uses diatomaceous earth together with filter paperboard or filter cloth as the filtration medium, helping remove suspended solids, fine impurities and residual activated carbon after decolorization.
This stainless steel syrup filter press is suitable for glucose syrup, fructose syrup, high-fructose syrup, starch syrup and other clarified sugar solutions. Under suitable operating conditions and proper filter-aid dosing, the turbidity of the filtered syrup can reach below 0.5 EBC. Optional agitation and automatic diatomaceous earth dosing systems are available to improve filtration consistency and reduce manual operation.

- Food-grade silicone rubber, PTFE and other suitable materials are used for seals and gaskets in contact with the process liquid;
- The sanitary stainless steel diaphragm pressure gauge with silicone oil buffer provides clear monitoring of inlet and outlet pressure during filtration;
- Inlet and outlet piping uses polished stainless steel pipes, sanitary fittings and valves, with inert-gas-shielded welding for clean and reliable processing;
- Diatomaceous earth can be used as a filter aid to improve filtration accuracy, cake permeability and clarification efficiency;
- Multiple filter areas, plate quantities and filtration capacities are available to match different production requirements.
How It Works
During operation, the syrup or other process liquid is pumped into the plate and frame filter under pressure. Diatomaceous earth is used as a filter aid and works together with filter paperboard or filter cloth to form a fine filtration layer. Suspended particles, activated carbon and other impurities are retained on the filtration surface, while the clarified liquid passes through the filter medium and is discharged through the outlet.
As filtration continues, a filter cake gradually forms and further improves clarification performance. When the filtration cycle is completed, the equipment can be opened for cake removal, cleaning and preparation for the next production batch.
