Description
The PLC-controlled automatic hydraulic stainless steel plate and frame filter press is designed for clarification, polishing and fine filtration of low-solids process liquids. It combines PLC-based operation, automatic hydraulic plate compression and a stainless steel plate-and-frame filtration structure to provide stable filtration with reduced manual intervention.
The featured BASJL600-35 model provides a filtration area of 35 m² and uses 600 × 600 mm filter plates. Its plate-and-frame design allows different filter media to be installed according to the required filtration stage, making the equipment suitable for processes ranging from general clarification to high-precision polishing filtration.
The system is especially suitable for applications where cleanliness, convenient operation and repeatable filtration performance are important. PLC control simplifies the operating sequence, while the hydraulic system provides stable compression of the filter plate package during filtration.
PLC and Hydraulic Control
The PLC control system manages the main operating sequence of the filter press and helps reduce repetitive manual operation. The hydraulic unit compresses the plate-and-frame assembly before filtration and maintains the required closing force during the operating cycle.
After filtration is completed and system pressure is released, the hydraulic system can assist with opening the filter assembly for cleaning, filter-media inspection or replacement. The automated configuration is particularly useful for production lines that require frequent filtration batches and consistent operating procedures.
Main Features
- PLC-controlled operation combined with an automatic hydraulic system for convenient and repeatable filtration cycles;
- Stainless steel plate-and-frame construction suitable for clean liquid-processing applications;
- Compatible with filter cloth, filter paper, filter cardboard and microporous membranes for different filtration requirements;
- White silicone sealing material and a closed pressure-filtration structure help provide clean and stable liquid handling.
Working Principle
Before filtration begins, the hydraulic system compresses the plates and frames together with the selected filtration medium. The process liquid is then pumped into the internal channels and distributed into the filtration chambers under pressure.
The liquid passes through the filter cloth, paper, cardboard or membrane, while suspended particles and other retained contaminants remain on or within the filtration layer. The clarified filtrate passes through the internal passages of the filter plates and is discharged from the outlet.
As retained solids accumulate, filtration resistance gradually increases. At the end of the operating cycle, the feed is stopped and the pressure is released. The filter assembly can then be opened for removal of retained solids, cleaning and replacement of the filtration medium when required.
Typical Applications
This PLC-controlled stainless steel fine filter press is suitable for clarification and polishing filtration in pharmaceutical processing, herbal extracts, food and beverage production, fine chemicals, cosmetics and laboratory or pilot production where the process liquid contains relatively low levels of suspended solids.
It is particularly suitable for production processes that require flexible filtration accuracy, because different filtration media can be selected without changing the main filter press structure.
How to Select the Right Configuration
Model selection should consider the liquid type, hourly processing capacity, solids concentration, viscosity, operating temperature, particle size and required final clarity. The filter medium should be selected separately according to the actual filtration objective.
For equipment selection, please provide the material name, required capacity, solids content, operating temperature, required filtration accuracy and daily working time. These conditions can be used to determine the appropriate filtration area, number of plates and filter-medium configuration.
