Overview
The automatic water-flush filter press is designed for industrial solid-liquid separation processes where filter cloth cleanliness, stable filtration capacity and a high degree of automation are required. After each filtration cycle, the integrated water washing system automatically cleans the filter cloth, helping remove residual cake and particles from the cloth surface and restore filtration permeability.
Compared with a conventional filter press that requires frequent manual cloth cleaning, the automatic water-flush system reduces operator intervention and helps maintain more consistent filtration performance during repeated production cycles. It is especially suitable for materials that easily block or contaminate the filter cloth.
Automatic Water-Flushing System
After cake discharge, the filter press enters the cloth-washing stage. The washing device uses pressurized water to clean the surface of the filter cloth and remove residual solids trapped after filtration. Regular automatic washing helps reduce cloth blinding, maintain filtrate flow and extend the effective service life of the filter cloth.
The washing process can be integrated with the automatic operating sequence of the filter press, allowing filtration, plate opening, cake discharge and cloth cleaning to be carried out with less manual operation. This makes the equipment suitable for production lines with frequent filtration cycles or higher automation requirements.
Key Advantages
Automatic filter cloth washing helps maintain cloth permeability and reduces the accumulation of fine particles on the filtration surface. More stable cloth condition means more consistent filtration cycles and less downtime caused by manual cleaning.
The automatic operating system reduces routine labor requirements and improves the continuity of the solid-liquid separation process. For difficult materials that tend to adhere to or block the filter cloth, regular water flushing can simplify maintenance and help keep the filtration system in stable operating condition.
The filter press can be configured with a large filtration area for high-capacity industrial applications. Different filter plate specifications and filtration areas are available according to the required processing capacity and material characteristics.
Working Principle
During filtration, the slurry is pumped into the closed filter chambers under pressure. The liquid phase passes through the filter cloth and is discharged through the filtrate channels, while suspended solids are retained inside the chambers and gradually form filter cakes.
When the filtration cycle is completed, the feed is stopped and the plates are opened for cake discharge. The automatic washing system then cleans the filter cloth with water to remove residual solids and prepare the cloth for the next filtration cycle.
By combining filtration, cake discharge and automatic cloth washing in one operating sequence, the system helps reduce manual cleaning frequency and supports continuous or high-frequency production.
Typical Applications
The water-flush filter press can be used for sludge dewatering and solid-liquid separation in wastewater treatment, chemical processing, mining and mineral processing, new energy materials and other industrial applications.
It is particularly suitable for materials that easily contaminate or clog the filter cloth, production processes with frequent filtration cycles, and automated production lines where stable filtration performance and reduced manual maintenance are important.
Main Technical Configuration
Filter area: 100–1000 m². Filter plate specification: 1000 mm or 1500 mm. Operation mode: automatic. Filtrate discharge: open-flow configuration. Different filtration areas and plate quantities can be selected according to processing capacity and operating conditions.
Why Automatic Cloth Washing Matters
During repeated filtration cycles, fine particles can gradually remain inside or on the surface of the filter cloth. If they are not removed effectively, filtration resistance may increase and cycle time may become longer. Automatic water washing helps keep the cloth cleaner between cycles and reduces the need to stop production for manual washing.
The actual washing frequency and water pressure should be adjusted according to the slurry properties, particle size, cake adhesion and filter cloth type to achieve an appropriate balance between cleaning efficiency, water consumption and cloth service life.
Equipment Selection
To select a suitable water-flush filter press, please provide the slurry or material name, required processing capacity, solids concentration, particle characteristics, operating temperature, required cake moisture and daily operating time. Based on these conditions, the filtration area, filter plate size, filter cloth and automation configuration can be selected accordingly.
