Some materials are characterized by very high temperatures, such as 120 °C and above. As a result, a standard polypropylene filter press cannot ensure proper operation, and a cast iron filter press must be considered. This equipment and its filter plates are made of high-quality cast iron with spheroidal graphite.

Depending on the method of sludge discharge, cast iron filter presses are available in automatic and manual types. Unlike the plates in polypropylene filter presses, cast iron filter plates are very heavy and difficult to move by hand; therefore, if the filter plate size exceeds 630 mm, we generally recommend an automatic cast iron filter press to save on labor costs. There are two types of plates for different filtration requirements: chamber-type and plate-and-frame filter plates. Typically, a cast iron filter press uses a motor-driven hydraulic clamping system to achieve optimal clamping performance.

In fact, in addition to the stack of intermediate plates, its head and tail plates are also made of spheroidal graphite cast iron.
